“Hare coursing is cruel in the extreme as it sees helpless, little hares terrified to death – and all in the name of sport. While I do hope that Micheál Martin does heed Pamela Anderson’s advice, it shouldn’t take a Baywatch babe to prompt him to do the right thing” – Read Niamh Walsh’s column in the Irish Mail on Sunday…
Pam sends hare-raising letter to our Taoiseach
Niamh Walsh’s Manifesto
The Irish Mail on Sunday, 13 Dec 2020
THERE is a peculiar pattern that makes pen pals of politicians and pin-ups. Leo Varadkar aroused a global guffaw when his gushing love letter to his secret crush Kylie Minogue became kinky chatter as the country collectively cringed at his Minogue missive. And to quote Kylie, An Taoiseach Micheál Martin must certainly have thought ‘I should be so lucky’ when he found that Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson had personally written him a wicked letter straight from her heart. But poor Micheál wasn’t actually lucky at all. In fact, Pamela’s scathing letter should have seen him looking for a lifeguard to save his shame as Pammy pointed out what a cruel and uncaring country Ireland has become known as globally.
‘Will you please be the Taoiseach who finally lays cruel hare coursing to rest?’ she implored.
‘Your Government can heed that lesson by banning this so-called ‘sport’, in which gentle, sensitive hares – wild animals – are torn from their natural homes so that they can be chased by hounds for someone’s twisted idea of amusement. It’s time – past time – that Ireland consigned hare coursing to the history books, where it belongs,’ Pamela begged.
With Micheál at pains to make his tenure as Taoiseach memorable, let’s hope he doesn’t enter the history books for being the first man to turn down a deep desire from Pamela Anderson.
Hare coursing is cruel in the extreme as it sees helpless, little hares terrified to death – and all in the name of sport. While I do hope that Micheál does heed Pamela’s advice, it shouldn’t take a Baywatch babe to prompt him to do the right thing.
