CRASS: Horse racing putting livelihoods ahead of lives

24 Mar

The Irish horse racing and gambling industry is putting livelihoods ahead of lives – Read Brian O’Connor’s column in today’s Irish Times in which Horse Racing Ireland’s decision to continue racing is condemned as “crass” and “tasteless”

Tell Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Health Minister Simon Harris to immediately stop all horse racing and greyhound racing in the interests of public safety and doing everything possible to slow the spread of COVID 19. Doctors are required to be at racecourses to examine jockeys who fall from horses. What a disgrace that horse racing continues when doctors are desperately needed at hospitals to help save lives. Urge Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Health Minister Simon Harris and Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe to act NOW.
